Yes, and I generally propose introducing newcomers to all the tools that are available to help them develop their intuitions and I encourage them to use whatever works. What works for me might not work for you, and that's fine as long as we find what works for you. If mathematics isn't working for you, the pedagogical solution is not more mathematics.
