Spooky Action In Close Proximity
Thanks to White Hat Web Solutions of North Carolina, USA, for the cover. It was finalized before the first word was written, and it really set the tone for this, my third book.
“Quantum Beast: Spooky Action In Close Proximity” will disembark on June 6, 2023, when it will become available as a free download on Payhip. This is the same site from where you can already download “Dungeons & Qubits 1: an Adventurer’s Continued Tale Beyond the Quantum Computing Tutorials” and “Choose Your Own Quantum Adventure 3: A Personalized Career Guide For The Quantum Computing Industry.” By publication time, I should also have uploaded a quantum steampunk-themed short story, but contest judging is ongoing so I can’t yet reveal anything substantive about it.
Quantum mechanics is considered unintuitive because we don’t observe quantum mechanical phenomena in our classical, macroscopic world. But, what if that wasn’t the case? What would that look like? As the cover of this book foreshadows, this is a tale of a fantastical, macroscopic beast that exhibits quantum mechanical properties. And although the quantum mechanics in this book cannot be right, I tried very hard to achieve a threshold of “not wrong.” Hopefully, the enjoyability of the story will offset the creative liberties I had to take. I stretched reality to include a fire-breathing dragon, and then I stretched it a little bit more.
